About this Project
Garth’s is a perfect cross between sophisticated Monroe St. culture and a quaint Wisconsin hunting lodge. This feel was accomplished by Jacob Morrison of MoTiS Architecture, who is well-known around Madison for the unique and upscale style he’s brought to the local restaurant and bar scene.
It’s as much community space as it is bar, replete with communal tables, piles and piles of board games, a fantastic selection of carry-out beers and even their very own “Instagram Cubes.” What’s an Instagram cube you ask? It’s a private maple box that is built to literally allow for the perfect selfie.
We’d be lying if we said we’d built something like that before, but we hope to get to again soon!
These cubes’ interiors are made from native hardwoods while the rest of the space is dripping with acres of tongue-and-groove Wisconsin-sourced pine. The giant Moosehead on the wall — well that just tops it all off.
It’s the kind of place that you would feel comfortable taking your most fashionable, social media conscious friend, or your salt-of-the-earth Northwoods grandparents.
